Job summary

MMD Recruitment is seeking an experienced Client-Side Project Manager to support the delivery of a major hyperscale data centre development in Kurri Kurri, NSW.

This hands-on role involves coordinating construction activities, managing contractors and stakeholders, and ensuring programme, cost, quality, and safety targets are met. The assignment is a 12-month contract with potential extension, onsite five days per week with some flexibility.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong client-side project management experience, including work for head contractors.
• Exposure to civil works, bulk earthworks, major building construction or complex infra developments.
• Experience managing principal contractors, consultants and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness including programme, cost, contract and risk management.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
• A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline.
• Ability to work onsite in Kurri Kurri five days per week, with some flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee construction delivery from a client-side perspective across a major hyperscale data centre development.
• Coordinate and manage head contractors, subcontractors, consultants and key project stakeholders.
• Monitor construction programmes, milestones, budgets and project performance.
• Oversee site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Identify and proactively manage project risks, programme delays and commercial issues.
• Review contractor progress, construction methodologies and project reporting.
• Support procurement, contract administration, variations and change management.
• Provide clear and regular project updates to senior management and client stakeholders.
• Drive accountability and collaboration across the project delivery team.

About the Opportunity

MMD Recruitment is seeking an experienced Client-Side Project Manager to support the delivery of a major hyperscale data centre development in Kurri Kurri, NSW.

This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in a flagship data centre project, working alongside an experienced delivery team on one of the fastest-growing sectors in Australia's construction and infrastructure market.

We're looking for a hands-on Project Manager with strong construction delivery experience, ideally gained across both client-side and head contractor environments. You will play a key role in managing contractors, coordinating construction activities and ensuring successful delivery across programme, cost, quality and safety.

This is an initial 12-month contract opportunity, with potential for extension as the project progresses.

About You

We're particularly interested in Project Managers who bring a strong understanding of construction delivery and can confidently represent the client's interests.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong client-side project management experience, together with practical experience working for a head contractor.
• Solid exposure to civil works, bulk earthworks, major building construction or complex infrastructure developments.
• Experience managing principal contractors, consultants and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness, including programme, cost, contract and risk management.
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
• A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Ability to work onsite in Kurri Kurri five days per week, with some flexibility.

Previous data centre experience will be highly regarded but is not essential. We welcome applications from strong construction Project Managers looking to transition into the hyperscale data centre sector.
