Job summary

ASC is recruiting a Project Manager based in Henderson, WA to lead project planning, execution and closeout for the Sub Sustainment Nuclear program. You will ensure delivery against scope, schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives.

The role requires 7+ years in complex programs, strong leadership, and excellent communication. It offers on-site work in Henderson/WA with opportunities for career growth within ASC’s defence projects.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management or related discipline.
• 7+ years’ experience in complex project environments.
• Strong scheduling, earned value management, financial oversight and stakeholder management.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with high-performing teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Experience within asset management or maintenance environments; AIPM membership highly regarded.
• Comfortable operating within a matrix organisation and building strong internal and external relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery including initiation, planning, execution and close-out, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost and quality baselines.
• Drive strong safety leadership by setting clear expectations and modelling safe behaviours across all project activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional inputs and maintain effective relationships with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, PMO, Finance and other key stakeholders.
• Conduct proactive project risk and opportunity reviews, implementing mitigation and realisation strategies to support successful outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality project reporting, including weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reviews.
• Manage financial performance as Control Account Manager (CAM), ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Lead and support project team members through effective supervision, mentoring and fostering a high-performance project culture.
• Actively contribute to ASC’s continued development and maintenance of a Submarine Safety Culture.

About the Opportunity

As a Project Manager based in Henderson WA, you will be responsible for leading project planning, execution and closeout activities within the Sub Sustainment Nuclear (SSN) Program. You will ensure delivery against scope, schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager is accountable to the Senior Project Manager for delivering detailed project management activities required during all phases of the project lifecycle and the supervision and coordination of assigned Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Project Administrators and indirect reports.

• Lead end-to-end project delivery including initiation, planning, execution and close-out, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost and quality baselines.
• Drive strong safety leadership by setting clear expectations and modelling safe behaviours across all project activities.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
