About us

The Long Service Corporation (LSC) is a standalone agency within the Department of Customer Service, managing portable long service leave schemes for the building and construction industry and the contract cleaning industry. We are also preparing to launch our third scheme for the Community Services Industry (CSI). You will join the Digital and Program Delivery team, a newly established team responsible for delivering new schemes, implementing the systems and processes that support them, and driving continuous improvement across existing schemes and platforms.

About the team

The Long Service Corporation (LSC) manages portable long service schemes for the building and construction industry and contract cleaning industry, and we are about to launch our third scheme for community services industry (CSI). You’ll be joining the newly established Digital and Program Delivery team in LSC. The team is leading the delivery of new portable long service leave schemes, including the development and rollout of the systems and processes needed to administer them. In addition, this team is also responsible for ongoing improvement initiatives ensuring our current schemes and systems continue to evolve and improve.

About the role

As a Project Manager, you will manage and coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of complex projects that support the achievement of organisational objectives. You will work across the full project lifecycle, partnering closely with stakeholders, vendors and internal teams to deliver outcomes on time, on budget and to agreed quality standards.

Your day-to-day:
  • Developing and implementing strategies for continuous monitoring, evaluation, and improvement of project delivery, including risk and contingency management.
  • Managing and developing project teams, guiding performance, and ensuring key milestones and outcomes are achieved within scope.
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, providing expert advice, managing communications, and ensuring project deliverables are met.
This role requires a candidate with demonstrable end-to-end project delivery experience, grounded in recognised project management disciplines and methodologies. The successful candidate will be able to:
  • Lead delivery of a defined initiative from initiation through to implementation and handover using sound project management principles and disciplined delivery practices
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, delivery schedules and quality measures and impacts, proactively identifying and addressing issues and risks
  • Effectively manage stakeholders, including structured stakeholder mapping, engagement, negotiation and issues management
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks, issues, and changes throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead and coordinate project team members, including non-dedicated resources and those with dual reporting lines, to achieve key milestones and outcomes
  • Undertake research and prepare high-quality briefs, reports and recommendations to support evidence-based decision making
  • Provide timely advice on emerging issues, ensuring alignment with agreed plans, budgets, policy objectives and delivery timeframes

This role is focused on delivering a specific new platform. As such, experience delivering digital transaction or portal-based solutions (e.g. web transactions, customer portals, or applications) is essential.

Candidates whose experience is primarily operational or business-as-usual (BAU) delivery, without evidence of leading discrete, time-bound project outcomes, are unlikely to meet the requirements of this role.

Closing Date: Thursday 10th September at 9:59am
