Job summary

Mayfield Industries is seeking a skilled Project Manager to plan, control and deliver allocated projects from pre-contracts to client handover, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and profitability.

You will develop schedules, manage resources, monitor budgets, and drive continuous improvement while engaging with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a relevant trade.
  • Project Management certification preferred.
  • Several years’ experience as an Engineer in project-based environments, ideally within high-voltage (HV) systems and switchgear.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, coordination and delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules, monitor progress, identify risks and potential delays, and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate project resources, procurement activities, subcontractors, and production requirements to ensure efficient delivery and optimal use of labour, materials, and equipment.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, forecasting, and financial performance, with a focus on maximising profitability and delivering commercial outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our growing team. The primary objective is to plan and control the development and delivery of allocated projects, from pre-contracts stage to handover to the client, to achieve specification and profit objectives while ensuring client satisfaction.

Duties

Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with company procedures and contractual requirements.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Prepare and manage project schedules, monitor progress, identify risks and potential delays, and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.

Coordinate project resources, procurement activities, subcontractors, and production requirements to ensure efficient delivery and optimal use of labour, materials, and equipment.

Monitor project budgets, costs, forecasting, and financial performance, with a focus on maximising profitability and delivering commercial outcomes.

Champion quality, safety, and continuous improvement by ensuring compliance with company management systems, contractual obligations, and WHS requirements while capturing and implementing lessons learned.

Provide regular project reporting to senior management, participate in project review meetings, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of project management practices across the business.

About You

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a relevant trade; Project Management certification preferred.

Several years’ experience as an Engineer in project-based environments, ideally within high-voltage (HV) systems and switchgear.

Strong project delivery background with the ability to manage timelines, resources, and budgets effectively.

Proficiency in MS Project or similar project management software.
