Job summary

Service Stream is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead power infrastructure projects across distribution networks in Victoria. You will oversee planning, execution and delivery while maintaining safety, schedule, and budget targets.

You will manage multiple projects, coordinate resources, monitor costs and margins, and engage with clients and subcontractors to support business growth and program success.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years' experience in overhead/underground lines construction management of projects.
  • Trade qualifications or Civil/Mechanical engineering degree (or similar).
  • PM experience in a contracting organisation or project-based business.
  • Experience applying structured project management methodologies to a wide range of projects.
  • Strong computer and core programming skills.
  • Valid Full Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Job Description Summary

This coveted role provides leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with client, regulatory and business requirements.

About the Role

At both a busy and exciting stage of our journey, we are currently seeking a Project Manager to assist with the successful delivery of power infrastructure projects and programs across distribution network environments.

A multifaceted role, your responsibilities will cover the following aspects:
Project Delivery
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of power infrastructure projects.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects ranging from maintenance programs through to large capital works.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, cost forecasts, and delivery strategies.
Safety & Compliance Leadership
  • Lead a strong safety culture, ensuring safety is non-negotiable across the program.
  • Support critical risk management, incident investigation, and corrective actions.
Financial & Commercial Management
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Monitor labour productivity, subcontractor costs, materials expenditure, and project margins.
  • Manage contract variations, claims, and commercial negotiations.
Stakeholder & Client Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, network owners, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary client contact for project delivery matters.
  • Identify future work opportunities and support business growth initiatives.
Capability, People & Culture
  • Lead and support project teams to achieve performance objectives.
  • Support workforce planning and resource allocation activities.
About you:

To be successful within this role you will ideally bring:

  • 6+ years' experience in overhead/underground lines construction management of projects
  • Trade qualifications or Civil/Mechanical engineering degree (or similar)
  • Previous PM experience in a contracting organisation or project-based business
  • Proven ability to operate in a dynamic "live" environment, meeting project hurdles
  • Experience in the application of structured project management methodologies to a wide range of projects
  • Strong computer and core programming skills
  • Understanding of work structures, conditions, tools & common equipment
  • Strong competence in Financial Management & HSE aspects
  • Valid Full Drivers License
