Job summary

eHealth Queensland is seeking a Project Manager to lead ICT projects across Queensland Health. Reporting to the Program Director, you will initiate, plan and deliver projects within time, budget and quality expectations, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders while guiding a small multi-disciplinary team.

Experience in health ICT, PRINCE2, and capabilities to influence stakeholders, manage resources and drive change will be essential for success in this role within the Queensland

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience delivering medium-scale IM/ICT projects, preferably in health care.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies; ability to advise on tools and techniques including PRINCE2.
  • Proven experience in integration and migration of ICT infrastructure and telecommunications services.
  • Strong negotiation, consultation and written/oral communication skills; stakeholder management ability.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring a multi-disciplinary team to optimise delivery.

Job description

The role:As a Project Manager, you will be reporting to the Program Director and will be responsible for managing the initiation, planning and successful completion of ICT projects in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies. Potentially managing several in-flight projects simultaneously, you will deliver successful projects within agreed timeframes, budget, and quality standards. As the Project Manager, you will be working on exciting business integration projects related to the transition of ICT services for several Queensland Government Agencies into and out of Queensland Health. A key part of the role will involve initiating, influencing and maintaining productive professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, focussing on the management of expectations and effective communication. Additionally, you will lead a small multi-disciplinary team, ensuring utilisation to the best of their potential and mentoring them to develop and build upon skills and improve overall delivery.

Are you right for this role? To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in the delivery of medium scale IM/ICT projects, preferably in the health care industry. You will possess a high level of expertise and knowledge of appropriate project management methodologies, preferably PRINCE2, and the ability to provide expert advice on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools. Demonstrated experience in the implementation, integration and migration of ICT infrastructure and telecommunications services (e.g. applications, network, infrastructure etc.), will be highly regarded. Proven experience in the configuration, testing and deployment of applications and system integration in health care facilities is highly desirable. The successful candidate will possess a high level of negotiation and consultation skills as well as effective written and oral communication skills. This will enhance your proven stakeholder management skills to support effective business change, including the ability to initiate, influence and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders. Additionally, you will have proven analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills as well as experience in leading, managing and mentoring an effective multi-disciplinary team.

Specific Working Conditions

This position may be required to travel and work in rural and remote areas. A class C driver's license is essential.
