Job summary

Whizdom is seeking a Project Manager in Canberra, ACT to lead end‑to‑end project activities, govern policies, and guide project management methodologies. This role requires autonomy and collaboration with senior stakeholders to deliver high‑quality artefacts and reports.

Essential experience includes 2+ years in project management, PRINCE2, SFIA level 4 for PRMG and REQM/RLMT, risk management, and strong communication skills. Security and organisational suitability assessment may be required.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a Project Manager or similar role.
  • Experience applying structured methodologies such as PRINCE2.
  • Ability to define, document and deliver small to medium-complexity projects (SFIA PRMG 4).
  • Strong capability in requirements definition, prioritisation and stakeholder engagement (SFIA REQM 4, RLMT 5).
  • Proficiency with project management tools and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and manage risks, track project progress and operate within agreed tolerances.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high‑quality project artefacts and reports.

About the Role

The Project Manager will operate with a high degree of autonomy, delivering complex projects and contributing to strategic planning, project governance and policy development. You will lead end‑to‑end project activities, ensure compliance with organisational standards, and provide expert guidance on project management methodologies.

The Successful Candidate

To be successful, you will bring:

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT.

Contract terms: Until June 31, 2027 plus 1 12 month extensions

SFIA level required: The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.

Security Requirements: Current Top‑Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance is strongly preferred, however candidates who have held a TSPV in the previous 12‑month period (which has since been downgraded) may be considered. An OSA (Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.

Candidates will need to be willing to undergo pre‑employment screening checks which may include ID and work rights, security clearance verification and any other client requested checks.
