Job summary

Fire Services Queensland (FSQ) is seeking a full-time Project Manager to deliver fire services projects across Brisbane and surrounding areas. You will coordinate scope, budgets, and teams to ensure on-time, within-budget outcomes with a focus on safety and quality.

The role emphasizes client engagement, contract management, and continuous improvement, across a supportive BGIS-backed program. Applicants should bring strong PM experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Experience in project management and Capex programs.
• Experience managing contracts with consultants, contractors and suppliers.
• Knowledge of quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management systems.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to coordinate multiple project activities and shifting priorities.
• Proficient with project management software (MS Project).
• Current General Induction for Construction Industry card.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project delivery from scope definition to handover.
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, invoicing and reporting.
• Coordinate project teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Monitor progress and manage changes throughout the project lifecycle.

The Role

Join the growing Fire Services Queensland (FSQ) team. We are recruiting a full-time Project Manager to support the delivery of projects across Brisbane and surrounding areas.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to coordinate projects from scope definition through to successful handover, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with project requirements.

In this role, you will coordinate project teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers while managing budgets, contracts, project changes and reporting. You will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on effective project delivery, customer service and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

• Coordinate project delivery from scope definition through to completion and handover
• Manage project budgets, including cost forecasting, invoice processing and financial reporting
• Coordinate project teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
• Monitor project progress and manage changes throughout the project lifecycle
• Support contract management and finalisation activities
• Participate in client meetings and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders
• Monitor project requirements to support timely, within-budget and high-quality delivery
• Prepare project reviews, progress updates and reporting for management
• Ensure project activities align with applicable quality, health and safety, and environmental management requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve project processes and overall delivery efficiency

Your Skills, Experience & Attributes

• Previous experience in project management and Capex programs
• Experience managing contracts involving consultants, contractors and suppliers
• Knowledge and experience working with quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management systems
• Good commercial understanding, including project budgets, forecasting and financial reporting
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple project activities and changing priorities
• Experience using project management software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Project
• Certificate IV in OHS or demonstrated project management experience
• Diploma or Graduate Diploma of Project Management, or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Current General Induction for the Construction Industry card
