East Gippsland Shire Council in Victoria seeks a Project Lead Officer to deliver and oversee multiple capital works projects. You will plan, coordinate, supervise and report on budgets, schedules and contractor performance from initiation through to delivery.
The role operates under a hybrid working model with an initial full-time office-based onboarding at the Bruce Road Depot in Kalimna West, 3 days on site per week, and flexibility to work from home as knowledge grows.
East Gippsland is a natural playground with over 21,000 square km of land including ski fields, high country, nine national parks, two significant marine parks, Australia's largest navigable inland lake system and stunning coastlines included!
The Infrastructure Projects Unit supports the planning and delivery of Council's capital works projects. The team works across project planning, design and delivery, coordinating contractors, consultants and stakeholders to support the delivery of community infrastructure.
As a Project Lead Officer, you will provide project management services to support the effective and efficient delivery of Council's capital works. You will plan, coordinate and supervise multiple projects, manage project budgets and resources, monitor contractor performance and ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, approvals and legislation. You will also work closely with internal teams, consultants, government agencies, community groups and other stakeholders throughout project planning and delivery.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at the Bruce Road Depot in Kalimna West and operates under Council's hybrid working model. An initial period of full-time office-based work will be required to support onboarding and training, with hybrid working arrangements available once the successful candidate has developed sufficient knowledge and capability in the role. While hybrid work flexibility is available, this role cannot be completed living outside of the region - an ongoing expectation of working from the office at least three days per week applies.
