Job summary

Primero is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team, supporting the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions across major projects and operational assets within the mining/industrial and utilities sectors. The role will be based at our new Head Office on St Georges Terrace, Perth, with modern facilities and access to transport.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (IEAust recognised).
• 3+ years' design engineering experience in mining/resources/heavy industrial environment.
• Knowledge of power systems, control systems (PLC), and field instrumentation.
• Demonstrated understanding of relevant standards and engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Chartered or working towards chartership is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g. AS/NZS, IEC) and client specifications.
• Provide technical support for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of E&I systems.
• Support maintenance strategies, reliability improvements, and asset lifecycle management.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard studies, and ensure adherence to safety requirements.
• Interface with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Calculations for sizing cables, transformers, switchboards, arc flash hazards and fault levels.
• Specify and select equipment for switchboards, VSDs, transformers, PLC hardware, distribution boards, switchgear.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineerto join our team, supporting the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions across major projects and operational assets within the mining/industrial and utilities sectors.

This role will be based at our new Head Office on St Georges Tce, Perth. Adjacent to the train station, the new office has state of the art end of journey facilities, including secure storage for bicycles and scooters, a gym, (with scheduled fitness classes), tennis court, basketball hoop and a swimming pool available for all Primero employees.
