Job summary

Ventia’s Western Power contract seeks an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in Forrestdale, WA. You will coordinate programmes, manage costs, monitor quality, and engage stakeholders while promoting a strong safety culture across field teams.

Typical responsibilities include drafting and issuing project documents, risk reviews, procurement support, and effective cost control. A civil engineering degree is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Civil or related discipline).
• Experience in construction projects and ability to read construction drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication; good time management and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer scope and client contract with focus on scope.
• Prepare and issue project technical and commercial documents.
• Perform document control activities.
• Identify project risks and participate in risk reviews.
• Control costs; review and track against budget.
• Provide progress reporting in a timely, accurate manner.
• Assist procurement and attend internal and client meetings.
• Contribute to lessons learned and nonconformance investigations.

About the Role

You will be involved in programme coordination, reporting, cost management, quality monitoring and stakeholder engagement while helping drive a strong safety culture across our field teams.

Duties include

• Effective management of customer scope & client contract, with a focus on the scope of the contract.
• Preparation and issue of project technical and commercial documents.
• Document control activities.
• Be aware of and identify project risks. Participate in Risk Reviews.
• Cost control — review & track costs against budget.
• Reporting on the progress in an accurate timely manner.
• Assisting in the procurement process and participate in internal and client project meetings as required.
• Participate in lessons learned / nonconformance investigations for resolution and future implementation.

Required Skills and Experience

Solid experience within construction environment will see you succeed in this role along with a Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Civil or related discipline)

• A self-starter with high attention to detail.
• Knowledge of construction projects and the ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills.
