Job summary

DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Signalling to join its Rail Systems team on the Gold Coast. Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering and minimum three years' experience in signalling engineering or construction.
• Strong understanding of signalling drawings, circuit books, construction work packs and ITPs/ITCs.
• Experience with signalling systems and ability to coordinate work packages and interfaces.

About the role

DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Signalling to join our Rail Systems team on the QTMP Ormeau Maintenance Facility project on the Gold Coast. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will support the planning and delivery of signalling installation works, both on-site and off-site, safely and in accordance with approved designs, project standards, programme, budget and quality requirements. You will coordinate construction engineering, procurement, work-pack preparation, technical interfaces and construction assurance through to handover for testing and commissioning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Review signalling drawings, circuit books, specifications and bills of materials for constructability and installation readiness.
• Prepare and review construction work packs, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Inspection and Test Checklists (ITCs) and work instructions.
• Coordinate technical queries and proposed changes through approved design and change-control processes.
• Support procurement and material readiness, and assist the Signalling Supervisor with planning labour, plant, access and work sequencing.
• Coordinate interfaces with designers, subcontractors and other disciplines to support signalling installation works.
• Monitor progress against the programme and provide timely updates on delivery risks, resource requirements and issues requiring escalation.
• Coordinate inspection records, quality documentation, defect resolution, red-line drawings and as-built information for handover to testing and commissioning.
• Undertake engineering and construction certification activities within demonstrated competence and formally assigned authority

Experience and capabilities

• Bachelor of Engineering and a minimum of three years' experience in signalling engineering or construction.
• Sound understanding of signalling drawings, circuit books, construction work packs, inspection and test documentation, and applicable rail standards.
• Experience with MicroLok, axle counters and signalling power systems; ETCS exposure is desirable.
• Ability to coordinate signalling work packages, procurement requirements and interfaces with supervisors, subcontractors and other disciplines.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships, resolve delivery issues and elevate risks.
• Experience maintaining construction quality records and preparing documentation for handover to testing and commissioning.
• RPEQ registration and a relevant Certificate IV in Rail Signalling are desirable. Candidates who demonstrate relevant experience and knowledge, together with a clear pathway to obtaining the applicable qualification or registration, may also be considered.
• Ability to meet and maintain the competency, training and authorisation requirements applicable to assigned rail safety duties.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 is desirable.
