Job summary

Inland Rail is seeking multiple Project Engineers to join our delivery teams across the A2I and I2S sections, providing engineering support to ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality. This client-side role offers exposure to major rail and civil infrastructure projects and the opportunity to contribute to one of Australia’s largest programs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Experience on major infrastructure, rail or civil construction projects.
• Experience working in project delivery and construction environments.
• Understanding of quality management, inspections and assurance processes.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety principles.
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and sound engineering judgement.
• Current Class C Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe delivery of construction activities across the Inland Rail project.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure works are completed safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and quality assurance activities, including hold points, witness points and work lot closeout.
• Review construction schedules, track progress and help resolve delivery challenges.
• Assist with technical reviews, RFIs, design changes and construction documentation.
• Work closely with contractors, supervisors and project stakeholders to coordinate project activities.
• Contribute to project reporting, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote Inland Rail's CARE Values and maintain a strong safety culture across project sites.
