Job summary

Inland Rail is hiring Project Engineers to support major rail and civil infrastructure work across the Albury–Illabo and Illabo–Stockinbingal sections. You will join project delivery teams, providing engineering support to ensure safe, on-time execution and alignment with schedule, quality, cost and risk objectives.

The role offers client-side exposure, site-based work, and varied Greenfield/Brownfield environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Experience on major infrastructure, rail or civil construction projects.
• Experience working in project delivery and construction environments.
• Understanding of quality management, inspections and assurance processes.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety principles.
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness and sound engineering judgement.
• Current Class C Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe delivery of construction activities across the Inland Rail project.
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure works are completed safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and quality assurance activities, including hold points, witness points and work lot closeout.
• Review construction schedules, track progress and help resolve delivery challenges.
• Assist with technical reviews, RFIs, design changes and construction documentation.
• Work closely with contractors, supervisors and project stakeholders to coordinate project activities.
• Contribute to project reporting, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote Inland Rail's CARE Values and maintain a strong safety culture across project sites.
