Engineering Manager - Water and Wastewater
Base pay range

A$230,000.00/yr - A$250,000.00/yr

Are you an experienced engineering leader with a passion for driving technical excellence in water and wastewater treatment? We’re partnering with a well-established infrastructure and technology provider to appoint an Engineering Manager to lead and shape their growing project delivery capability.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for managing the design and technical delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects across a variety of sectors. You’ll lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, contribute to business growth through innovation and technical input to bids, and ensure quality, compliance, and performance standards are met on all projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and technical leadership to engineering teams across multiple projects and geographies.
  • Oversee design, commissioning, and delivery of water and wastewater treatment systems (including membrane-based technologies).
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and safety in design.
  • Engage with clients, technology suppliers, and delivery partners to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Support business development activities by providing engineering input into tenders, proposals, and feasibility assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and engineering standards.
What We’re Looking For
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering roles within the water or wastewater sector.
  • Strong background in process or chemical engineering, with exposure to membrane systems (RO, UF, etc.).
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering or technical teams.
  • Experience overseeing design, commissioning, and operational optimisation of treatment plants or similar systems.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with project managers, commercial teams, and external partners.
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) and/or RPEQ eligibility preferred.
