Job summary

Buildcorp, Sydney, is seeking a Project Engineer to take ownership of complex fit-out projects from inception to handover. You will engage procurement, coordinate with design consultants, and drive cost-effective construction methodologies.

Key responsibilities include planning, risk management, sustainability alignment (NABERS/Green Star), and proactive collaboration with supervisors and subcontractors to meet milestones and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role within construction.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence stakeholders.
• Relevant qualifications in construction management, engineering, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Engage with procurement by developing scopes of works and information to support variations/claims.
• With the Design Manager, input into construction methodology reviews and suggest cost-saving changes.
• Manage design and construction coordination with design consultants and verify documentation.
• Consider design options, engineering solutions and value-for-money initiatives.
• Prepare construction plans/programs and monitor progress against budget and schedule.
• Identify and mitigate construction risk and communicate the program to the team.
• Escalate issues to the Senior Project Engineer when required.
• Understand sustainability objectives (e.g., NABERS/Green Star) for the project.
• Coordinate with Supervisors on logistics, site establishment, inspections and subcontractor plans.
