Job summary

Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure is delivering a landmark underground project in Western Australia, involving two blind-bored shafts as part of a major mine expansion. The role is for a Project Engineer to support planning, coordination and execution within the Underground team on a FIFO 2:1 roster to East Pilbara.

You will help ensure safety, quality, programme and cost objectives are achieved while contributing to a specialist underground construction project with opportunities across

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Experience as a Project Engineer in civil construction, infrastructure, mining or underground projects.
• Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors, procurement, project documentation and reporting.
• Proactive approach to safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Mining, shaft construction or tunnelling experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination and execution of works for underground projects.
• Ensure safety, quality, programme and cost objectives are achieved.
• Join the Underground delivery team on FIFO 2:1 roster to East Pilbara.
• Coordinate with surface teams and subcontractors to drive progress.
• Support procurement, documentation and reporting in project controls.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge transfer within tunnelling and shaft construction.

About The Opportunity

Abergeldie is delivering a landmark underground project in Western Australia's East Pilbara region, involving the construction of two blind-bored ventilation shafts as part of a major gold-copper mine expansion.

The project involves the concurrent construction of two shafts, each approximately 430 metres deep, along with significant surface civil works, permanent composite liners, annular grouting and shaft cover infrastructure. Projects involving blind-bored shafts of this scale are rarely undertaken in Australia, making this a unique opportunity to contribute to a specialist underground construction project.

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Underground team on a FIFO 2:1 roster to the East Pilbara. As a key member of the project delivery team, you will support the planning, coordination and execution of works while ensuring safety, quality, programme and cost objectives are achieved.

You’ll be joining a highly capable underground team delivering specialist shaft construction works, with future opportunities across major tunnelling and underground infrastructure projects throughout Australia.

What You’ll Bring To The Team

• Tertiary qualification/s in Civil Engineering
• Demonstrated experience as a Project Engineer within civil construction, infrastructure, mining or underground projects.
• Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors, procurement, project documentation and reporting.
• A proactive approach to safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous mining, shaft construction or tunnelling experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
