Job summary

Air Liquide Australia is seeking a Project Engineer to manage and deliver complex projects in a fast-paced environment at the Fairfield office. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality solutions, with a focus on operational excellence and safety.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering, 3–5 years of industrial or project experience, strong analytical skills, and solid knowledge of engineering drawings and AS codes.

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and delivering complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with cross-functional teams, ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations, while maintaining a culture and mindset of continuous improvement.

This role is critical in ensuring the company’s process safety actions are implemented to meet the group expectations.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
  • Operational Efficiency: Identify and execute initiatives to improve regional processes. You will facilitate the deployment of continuous improvement initiatives, providing training and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and idea generation.

  • Performance Tracking: Maintain and track relevant KPIs and dashboards to report on savings and operational performance. You will use data-driven insights to prioritize projects with the highest impact on the P&L.

  • Financial Oversight: Develop project budgets and conduct cost analysis to determine ROI and project feasibility. You will be accountable for meeting efficiency targets within the region.

  • Safety & Compliance: Exercise due diligence in all work health and safety matters. You will ensure the business uses appropriate resources to minimize risks and maintain compliance with all regulatory obligations and notifiable incident reporting.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, including Production and Continuous Improvement Managers, to drive cultural change and sustain performance improvements.

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering.

  • Professional Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a similar industrial or project role, with a strong focus on operational excellence.

  • Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge of Engineering drawings, AS Codes and Specs, project management tools and platforms.

  • Analytical Capability: Proven ability to analyze complex data sets, interpret statistics, and apply them to process improvement projects.

  • Leadership & Communication: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence others and communicate technical information clearly to diverse teams.

  • Valid and full Australian working rights.
