Responsibilities

• Support design management, FEED studies, and technical reviews for solar, wind, BESS, and grid projects.
• Develop and review scopes of work, specs, and design docs for electrical and BOP.
• Coordinate interfaces across electrical, HV, civil, structural, and SCADA teams.
• Provide input during procurement and supplier evaluation.
• Assist site teams during testing, commissioning, and grid connection.

About the Role

Gamuda Engineering is a global engineering and construction contractor specialising in major Transport, Civil, and Energy Infrastructure projects. As an integrated energy infrastructure partner, Gamuda provides end-to-end solutions to fund, develop, build, and operate assets accelerating Australia’s transition to clean energy - including utility-scale solar, wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects nationwide.

We are seeking a versatile Project Engineer - Renewables to join our clean energy team. Working closely with engineering and delivery leadership, you will support technical development, design management, procurement, and site execution across clean energy packages - spanning high-voltage (HV) infrastructure, solar PV, wind, and energy storage systems from FEED through to commissioning and grid connection.

Key Responsibilities

• Support engineering design management, FEED studies, and technical reviews across utility-scale solar, wind, BESS, and grid connection packages.


• Assist in developing and reviewing technical scopes of work, equipment specifications, and design documentation for electrical and balance-of-plant (BOP) systems.


• Coordinate technical interfaces across electrical, high-voltage, civil, structural, and SCADA/automation disciplines.


• Provide technical input during equipment procurement and supplier evaluation to ensure alignment with project requirements.


• Assist site teams, consultants, and Network Service Providers (NSPs) during testing, commissioning, and grid connection.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering.


• Experience in engineering design or project delivery within the renewable energy, high-voltage power, or clean energy sectors.


• Familiarity with renewable energy technologies (solar PV, BESS, wind, or HV systems) and Australian engineering standards.


• Strong analytical, communication, and multidisciplinary coordination skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and site teams.
