Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a Project Controller to support project delivery across a portfolio of building projects in Melbourne. You will coordinate setup, monitor performance, forecast finances, and maintain quality processes using established tools and dashboards.

You will work with Project Managers, technical teams and business leaders to ensure adherence to project governance, schedules, and budgets while delivering timely reporting and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in project administration, project controls, project finance or a similar support role.
• An understanding of project financials, including budgets, actual costs, forecasts, invoicing and financial reporting.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of how scope, schedule, resources and quality influence delivery and profitability.
• Practical understanding of project management processes with ability to support controls and governance.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with flexibility.
• Proactive in identifying issues and elevating matters when needed.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with project data and reporting tools.
• Experience with Oracle, BI dashboards, Primavera P6, MS Project or similar systems is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver projects in line with Stantec’s Project Management Framework, focusing on budget, scope, schedule, profitability, quality and risk.
• Support project setup activities, including setup forms, Project Hub, WBS, baseline budgets and resource-loaded plans.
• Implement project control processes: earned value, change management, forecast updates and performance monitoring.
• Monitor financial transactions, budgets, actuals, unbilled revenue, AP, invoice timing and close-out requirements.
• Prepare and update project forecasts and support monthly reporting and calendars.
• Run reports from Oracle and BI dashboards for project, section, sector and portfolio performance.
• Draft and track project variations and liaise with Project Accounting.
• Ensure contracts, subconsultant agreements and insurances are in place and stored as required.
• Support development of project plans, quality management, communication, risk registers and governance docs.
• Assist with quality control and assurance, ensuring procedures are followed and documented.
• Organise meetings, record minutes, follow up actions and coordinate with teams and clients.
• Support health, safety and environmental requirements and compliance checks.
• Respond to internal and external requests in a timely, professional manner.
