Job summary

Spott in Melbourne's CBD is seeking a Project Architect to lead a small team on social housing and multi-residential projects, from design development through documentation and tender. This hands-on delivery role partners with clients, consultants and government stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You’ll travel to sites across Melbourne and occasionally interstate, manage timelines, coordinate consultants, and drive projects from planning through delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Project Architect with delivery leadership.
• Local experience in accommodation sector (multi-residential or social/affordable housing).
• Strong, hands-on delivery from design development through to tender and construction documentation.
• Track record coordinating consultants and leading small teams.
• Confidence managing demanding timelines and sensitive client environments.

A mid-sized, design-led architecture studio of 35, based in Melbourne's CBD, has built a genuine specialty in social and affordable housing. The practice delivers thoughtful, high-quality work across Australia, with projects that involve close, ongoing collaboration with clients, consultants, government stakeholders and delivery partners.

With a growing pipeline of accommodation projects, including social housing work and a steady flow of new project wins, the studio continues to expand its Melbourne team while delivering major work through its interstate offices. It's a well-established, close-knit practice that puts real weight behind practical design leadership, strong documentation, and dependable delivery.

The opportunity

As Project Architect, you'll lead a small project team and own significant social housing and multi-residential projects, from design development through documentation and tender. You'll work closely with internal colleagues and external consultants to keep projects coordinated, technically sound, and delivered to a high standard. This is a genuinely hands‑on delivery role.

Day to day, you'll be:

• Leading projects through design development, construction documentation and tender
• Coordinating consultants and providing technical leadership
• Managing project timelines and delivery milestones
• Helping drive projects from town planning through to delivery
• Attending sites across Melbourne, with occasional interstate travel
