Job summary

DOF is seeking a Project Accountant to join our Perth Finance team on a permanent basis. You will work in a global organisation supporting Asia Pacific operations, collaborating with colleagues across countries to deliver project accounting and governance.

The role involves monthly project reporting, contract analysis, and working with Project Managers to monitor performance, forecasts and cash flow. A strong accounting background, IFRS knowledge, and excellent Excel/Office 365 skills are

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting.
  • CPA/CA/ACCA (Desirable).
  • 5+ years' experience in a corporate accounting environment or Big4 (desirable).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Office 365 skills, attention to detail, organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly project financial reports, including forecasts, cash flow projections, variance analysis and performance commentary.
  • Partner with Project Managers through regular review meetings to monitor project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and maintain accurate forecasts.
  • Analyse project costs, budgets and forecasts, promptly escalating significant variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Review client contracts and contract variations to assess financial impacts, revenue recognition requirements and accounting treatment.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end reporting, journals and revenue recognition in compliance with IFRS, company policies and financial controls.
  • Manage project financial administration, including project/work order setup and close-out, work breakdown structures, and forecast uploads in Agresso.
  • Raise and issue customer invoices in accordance with contract terms, monitor outstanding receivables and support strong cash flow management.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of assigned projects, including scope, commercial obligations, risks and operational impacts.
  • Support annual audits by preparing reconciliations, supporting documentation and project-related financial analysis.
  • Contribute to budgeting, quarterly forecasting and tender reviews by providing insights on project performance and commercial assumptions.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures and governance requirements at all times.
  • Assist with ad hoc tasks where required.

Join our team as an Project Accountant

DOF are currently seeking an enthusiastic & detail-orientated Project Accountant to join our Finance team in Perth CBD on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a global organisation supporting our Asia Pacific operations. You will work closely in a team of experienced finance professionals, contributing to a broad range of accounting activities within the project space.

As an integral member of the Finance team, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across multiple countries and business functions, supporting the financial performance and governance of a world-class offshore services organisation.
