Job summary

Talent Corp is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to lead the finance workstream on a major public sector finance and systems implementation in Melbourne. The role combines management accounting, governance, and data-driven insights across projects and senior stakeholder groups.

This senior, hands-on contract role focuses on delivering robust financial processes, reconciliations, controls, and compliance while supporting ERP system enhancements. Vic Gov experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Extensive management accounting and financial analysis experience.
• Strong experience with financial governance, reconciliations, controls, audit readiness and compliance.
• Experience leading the finance workstream of a complex project or transformation.
• Exposure to ERP, financial or management systems implementations or upgrades.
• Advanced analytical skills and experience with large datasets.
• CPA, CA or postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
• Prior experience in Vic Gov.

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Accountant to take a lead role in a significant finance and systems implementation within a complex public sector environment.

This is a senior, hands‑on finance role suited to someone who combines strong management accounting, financial governance and reconciliation experience with the ability to work across projects, systems and senior stakeholder groups. It is a contract role through to end of Feb 2027.

The Role

• Leading the finance workstream supporting the implementation and enhancement of a major financial management system.
• Establishing and strengthening financial governance, including reconciliations, financial controls, reporting and compliance processes.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Extensive management accounting and financial analysis experience.

• Experience contributing to or leading the finance workstream of a complex project or transformation.
• Exposure to ERP, financial or management systems implementations or upgrades.
• Advanced analytical skills and experience working with large volumes of financial data.
• CPA, CA or postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded
• Prior experience in Vic Gov
