State Sport Centres Trust (SSCT) is seeking a Programs Officer to lead children’s sport and recreation programs across its aquatic and stadium venues in Victoria. You will ensure safety, inclusivity and align activities with SOPs while supervising participants and supporting a positive team culture.

The role requires energetic session delivery, clear communication with children and guardians, and availability for offsite programs as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering children’s programs.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and varied activities.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
  • Pool Lifeguard Certificate (including CPR).
  • Provide First Aid or equivalent.
  • Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver children’s sport and recreation programs in aquatic and stadium environments.
  • Ensure programs are safe, inclusive and aligned with Children’s Programs SOPs.
  • Supervise children at all times and support a child safe environment.
  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions including warm ups, activities and games.
  • Encourage participation for children of all ages and abilities.
  • Communicate positively with children, parents, guardians and teachers.
  • Assist in creating a supportive and positive team culture.
  • Attend training sessions and maintain required qualifications.
  • Deliver offsite programs where required.

About State Sport Centres:

The Victorian State Sport Centres Trust (SSCT) operates and maintains over $1 billion assets including four of Australia’s largest multi-sport venues, the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), the State Netball and Hockey Centre (SNHC), Lakeside Stadium incorporating the State Athletics Centre, and Knox Regional Sports Park including the State Basketball Centre (SBC).

Unlike other major international standard venues that host sport and entertainment events, SSCT venues also provide access for users at all levels, from elite and professional athletes to school and community participants 7 days per week, up to 16 hours a day.

Through the provision of access for all, SSCT makes a unique and significant contribution to Victoria’s sport sector.

About the role:

As the Programs Officer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver children’s sport and recreation programs in aquatic and stadium environments
