Job summary

Tennis Australia is seeking a Programs Lead in Melbourne to drive delivery and growth of key participation initiatives focusing on children and youth. You will work with the Youth Programs Manager to plan, deliver and evaluate programs, coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners.

Success requires knowledge of the Australian tennis ecosystem, experience creating scalable program frameworks, and strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • A qualification in Sport Management, Coaching, Education, Marketing, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Set the overarching direction and tone of programs, ensuring alignment to the organisation’s strategic goals.
  • Act as the central point of coordination for program-related initiatives, ensuring clarity of roles, timelines and deliverables.
  • Establish and maintain structured feedback loops to capture insights from the field to inform continuous program improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including clubs, coaches, volunteers.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across platforms used for program tracking and evaluation.
  • Monitor monthly expenditure to ensure program spend remains on track and within approved limits.

About the role

The Programs Lead is responsible for driving and coordinating the successful delivery and growth of Tennis Australia’s key participation initiatives, with a strong focus on children and youth participation. Working closely with the Youth Programs Manager, the role drives program planning and action by leading project delivery and coordinating cross functional teams to ensure initiatives are effectively planned, implemented and evaluated

for their effectiveness.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A qualification in Sport Management, Coaching, Education, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Sound knowledge of the Australian tennis ecosystem, including club structures, coach development pathways, and volunteer engagement.
  • Experience designing inclusive, scalable program frameworks and embedding continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with national and international sporting bodies and alignment with industry standards and trends.
  • A current Police Check and Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain).
  • Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia.
