Job summary

Social Futures is seeking a Program Worker to join the Family Connect in Schools team on a part-time basis in Nowra. You will collaborate with diocesan school teams to support vulnerable children and their families, providing timely information and practical assistance in line with the Practice Framework.

The role involves intake, assessment and referrals, case management, and ensuring high-quality service delivery while meeting compliance and performance standards.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in health, education, psychology, social work, or related fields.
  • Experience providing Intake, Assessment and Referrals for families in a school setting.
  • Experience providing high-quality Case Management for families with diverse challenges.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with vulnerable groups.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality services to families and children in primary and secondary Catholic Schools.
  • Ensure service delivery aligns with the Social Futures Practice Framework and compliance requirements.
  • Provide warm referrals, advice and practical assistance through Family Connect in Schools.

The Program Worker for Family connect in schools (FCIS) will have a key role in the delivery of high-quality services to families and children accessing both primary and secondary Catholic Schools.

We are seeking a Program Worker to join our Family Connect in Schools team on a part-time basis in Nowra to help make a positive social change, together.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Work alongside the Diocese school team within their policies, protocols and processes to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and their families/carers by supporting healthy, safe and thriving home environments.
  • The Program Worker ensures the provision of high-quality services to achieve optimum levels of service delivery and client outcomes in line with the Social Futures Practice Framework requirements while ensuring business performance outcomes, standards and compliance requirements are met.
  • Family Connect in schools is an early intervention service providing timely information and advice, appropriate warm referrals and practical assistance to children, young people and families.
What We're Looking For
  • A deep understanding of the challenges that face families, children and young people, particularly those in marginalised groups.
  • The ability to achieve positive outcomes for families within a fast-paced environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in health, education, psychology, social work, early childhood, social welfare or similar.
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in education, health, psychology, social work, social science or social welfare, health promotion or similar
  • Experience providing high-quality Intake, Assessment and Referrals for families, children and young people in a school environment
  • Experience providing high quality Case Management support to families experiencing a myriad of challenges, underpinned by a child focused safety lens
