Job summary

SGS Australia is seeking a Program Technical Coordinator to support delivery of food certification programs (FSSC 22000, BRCGS). Based in Melbourne or Sydney, you will liaise with auditors, clients and technical specialists to coordinate certification activities and review technical documentation.

Ideal candidate has degree in food science/related discipline, 5+ years in food manufacturing QA or safety, HACCP knowledge, Lead Auditor credentials preferred, and a proactive, customer-focused

Qualifications

  • Experience in food manufacturing QA or safety is required.
  • GFSI-certified environment knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation and audit findings.
  • Strong communication with clients and auditors is essential.
  • HACCP training is essential; Lead Auditor qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery of FSSC 22000, BRCGS and other food certification programs.
  • Review client documentation to meet certification requirements.
  • Support technical reviews of audit reports and certification documentation.
  • Liaise with auditors, clients and internal teams to ensure audits are completed on time.
  • Maintain accurate certification records and audit documentation.
  • Provide technical support to customers regarding certification requirements and food safety standards.

Are you an experienced Food Quality or Food Safety professional looking to move beyond the manufacturing environment?

SGS is seeking a Program Technical Coordinator to support the delivery of our internationally recognised food certification programs, with a primary focus on FSSC 22000 and BRCGS Food Safety. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong food manufacturing or quality assurance background who is passionate about food safety, compliance and technical excellence.

Based in Melbourne or Sydney, you'll work closely with auditors, clients and technical specialists to coordinate certification activities, review technical documentation and support the delivery of accredited food certification services.

What you’ll be doing
  • Coordinate the delivery of FSSC 22000, BRCGS and other food certification programs.
  • Review client documentation and audit files to ensure they meet certification and SGS requirements.
  • Support technical reviews of audit reports, corrective actions and certification documentation.
  • Liaise with auditors, clients and internal teams to ensure audits and certification activities are completed on time.
  • Maintain accurate certification records and audit documentation.
  • Provide technical support to customers regarding certification requirements and food safety standards
Qualifications
What We Are Looking For
  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in food manufacturing within Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Technical, Compliance, or Food Technology roles.
  • Experience working within a GFSI-certified environment, with knowledge of standards such as FSSC 22000, BRCGS, SQF, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP principles, food safety management systems, quality processes, and audit requirements.
  • HACCP training is essential, with Lead Auditor qualifications or experience supporting certification, supplier, or third-party audits highly regarded.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation, audit findings, corrective actions, or supporting audit activities is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive, customer-focused, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
