Job summary

Communicare is seeking a Program Facilitator to deliver evidence-based FDV behaviour change programs to men in custody and on parole. You will lead group sessions, assess risk, plan safety, and manage client cases with a focus on safety for women, children and young people.

Based in Fremantle with travel to Acacia and Wooroloo prisons and other sites across Perth, the role offers flexible offices and occasional work from home options. The position requires Thursday evenings until 7pm.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Services or significant FDV sector experience.
• Experience or strong knowledge base in the FDV domain.
• Strong skills in risk assessment, safety planning, case management and managing complex client dynamics.
• Demonstrated understanding of FDV, family safety and trauma-informed practice.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to work with partner agencies.
• Current unrestricted Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check and police clearances.

Responsibilities

• Deliver FDV behaviour change programs, including group facilitation, risk assessment, safety planning and case management.
• Engage and support participants to achieve positive behaviour change and maintain program integrity.
• Develop, implement and review intervention plans with documentation, reporting and evaluation.

Job description

As a Program Facilitator for Communicare’s Parole in-reach Program, you will deliver evidence-based Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) behaviour change programs to men in custody and on parole. Through group facilitation and participant support, you will help promote safer behaviours, hold people who choose to use FDV accountable and keep the safety and wellbeing of women, children and young people at the centre of what we do.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) behaviour change programs, including group facilitation, risk assessment, safety planning, and case management.
• Engage and support participants to achieve positive behaviour change, manage complex presentations, and maintain program integrity.
• Develop, implement, and review intervention plans, ensuring accurate documentation, reporting, and program evaluation.
• Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal teams, government agencies, and community service providers to support client outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, professional development, and best-practice service delivery within a safe and collaborative team environment.

This is a permanent part-time position working 60.8 hours a fortnight. This role is located inFremantle and includes frequent travel to Acacia and Wooroloo prisons, East Perth Adult Community Corrections, Communicare’s Cannington Office and may include options to work from home or from flexible offices across Perth to suit your location. Please note that this position includes work on Thursday evenings until 7pm.

About You

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Services or significant experience in the Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) sector.
• Experience in working, or a sound knowledge base and study of, the FDV domain
• Strong skills in risk assessment, safety planning, case management, and managing complex client and group dynamics.
• Demonstrated understanding of FDV, family safety, and the application of gendered and trauma-informed practice.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies and referral services.
• Current unrestricted Driver’s Licence, Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, and ability to obtain required clearances and certifications.
