Job description

Program Coordinator - Full Court Respect

Basketball NSW is looking for a highly organised, relationship-focused Program Coordinator to be the internal lead for Full Court Respect, our grant-funded program promoting gender equality, respectful behaviour, and safe, inclusive club environments across NSW basketball.

Working closely with a contracted Program Manager, you’ll be BNSW’s day-to-day point of contact for the program, keeping activity on time, within budget, and to a consistent standard across 16 participating associations and two delivery cohorts. Program content is delivered by the Program Manager and a panel of external specialists; your role is the coordination, relationship, and compliance support behind them.

If you’re a confident coordinator who can hold the detail of a multi-site program, work with a wide range of stakeholders without direct authority, and want to help make community sport safer and more equitable for women and girls, we want to hear from you.

ABOUT BASKETBALL NSW

Basketball NSW (BNSW) is the governing body for basketball in New South Wales, responsible for growing and developing the sport at every level, from local associations and school programs through to elite state competitions.

With over 89,000 registered members, a network of affiliated associations across the state, and ambitious plans under our 2026-2028 Strategic Framework, BNSW is in an exciting period of growth. We’re a passionate, values-driven team guided by our BLUES values, and we’re committed to making basketball accessible, inclusive, and excellent for everyone.

ABOUT FULL COURT RESPECT

Full Court Respect is delivered by Basketball NSW in partnership with 16 participating basketball associations over a 22-month term. The program includes governance workshops, education sessions, theme rounds, and other community activities, and supports each participating association to develop and adopt its own Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Coordinate Program Delivery

  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for Full Court Respect sessions, workshops, and audits across the 16 participating associations.
  • Act as the primary administrative contact for the contracted Program Manager.
  • Support our Marketing & Communications Officer with Theme Round and social marketing coordination.

Track, Report and Stay Acquittal-Ready

  • Maintain participation, attendance, and demographic data systems, tracking delivery against milestones and flagging risks early.
  • Support progress reporting to the Office of Sport, as well as updates to our Senior Leadership Team and Board.
  • Maintain the central evidence repository for grant acquittal, including attendance records, GEAPs, audits, surveys, photographs, and case studies.

Support Our Associations and Uphold Governance

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with association staff, boards, and committees across both cohorts.
  • Support the implementation of Association Partnership Plans and provide governance support to associations.
  • Comply with all Basketball NSW policies, including the Member Protection Policy, Child Safe Policy, and work health and safety procedures.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Experience coordinating a program, project, or schedule of activity involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship management skills and a service-oriented approach to working with member organisations and volunteers.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and prioritise effectively within a part-time role.
  • Confidence working with financial information, including maintaining budget trackers and expenditure records.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills, including preparing correspondence, updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to gender equality, inclusion, and safe and respectful environments in sport or a comparable community setting.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, and comfort with digital collaboration and reporting tools.
  • Experience supporting grant-funded programs, including collating information for reporting and acquittal.
  • Knowledge of community sport structures, particularly the association and club environment in NSW.
  • Experience supporting organisations to develop action plans, policies, or governance improvements.
  • Familiarity with gender equality frameworks, member protection, or child safe standards in sport.
  • Experience coordinating events, workshops, or education sessions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work, and regional travel across NSW to support program activity.
  • Right to work in Australia - Australian or New Zealand Citizen, or Australian Permanent Resident

WHY BASKETBALL NSW?

  • Be part of one of NSW’s largest and fastest-growing sport organisations.
