Job summary

AFTRS invites applications for the Program Convenor – Graduate Diploma of Screen. You will provide academic leadership, coordinate curriculum development and delivery, and ensure inclusive, industry-connected learning experiences for emerging screen practitioners in a national school.

Reporting to Teaching & Learning, you will recruit and onboard teaching staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with industry partners to reflect current production practices.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree or equivalent academic, professional experience.
• Proven leadership in curriculum delivery and academic quality processes.
• Extensive management experience in higher education or related environment.
• Strong industry networks in screen and broadcast sectors.
• Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder program planning and delivery.
• Experience fostering safe, inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and implementation of the Graduate Diploma program to ensure outcomes are delivered.
• Coordinate curriculum delivery, assessment and academic quality processes.
• Lead teaching team, recruitment, onboarding and ongoing staff support.
• Monitor budget, workload, and resources within approved parameters.
• Engage with industry partners to ensure contemporary practice and relevance.
• Provide student support and ensure a high-quality learning experience.
