Job summary

Management and Training Corporation – Villawood NSW is seeking a dedicated program facilitator to deliver structured wellbeing and daily functioning sessions for detainees at Villawood Immigration Detention Centre. You will lead practical, skills-based activities to help detainees maintain routine and build confidence.

Reporting to the Program & Activity Supervisor, you will design and deliver life skills, wellbeing activities, fitness or cooking sessions, and contribute to inclusive program

Qualifications

• Diploma qualification in sports, recreation, learning and development, ethnic affairs or similar (mandatory).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to de-escalate and manage challenging situations.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in program delivery or facilitation.
• Current First Aid & CPR.
• Proven COVID vaccination (min. two doses).
• Ability to pass an Australian Federal Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver group programs that promote wellbeing, routine and constructive engagement.
• Facilitate practical workshops (e.g. life skills, fitness, cooking, education support).
• Contribute to culturally sensitive, inclusive program design.
• Maintain professional boundaries and respond appropriately to challenging behaviours.
• Provide feedback to support program evaluation and improvement.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies in line with operational procedures.

About The Role

You’ll facilitate practical, skills-based sessions such as life skills, wellbeing activities, fitness or cooking programs. Your work will help detainees maintain routine, build confidence and stay connected during periods of uncertainty.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver group programs that promote wellbeing, routine and constructive engagement
