Job summary

Lhr in Bayswater, Victoria is seeking welders/apprentices for an upcoming workload. No trade qualification required but welding skills and experience are essential. You will read drawings, MIG/TIG weld, cut and grind mild steel, and assist with on-site fabrication with travel allowance for on-site work.

Ideal candidates are physically fit, reliable, and able to work autonomously; White Card and Rail Industry Card are required. Overtime may be available.

Qualifications

• No trade qualification required, but welding skills and experience are essential.
• Must be able to read drawings and meet job specifications.
• MIG welding required; TIG welding preferred when possible.
• On-site work with travel allowances available.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand job specifications/drawings.
• Cut and grind mild steel.
• MIG/TIG welding of mild steel per job specification.
• On-site fabrication and installation.
• General site housekeeping.

WELDING APPRENTICES WANTED!!! Bayswater, Victoria
\"Looking for mature minded workers to grow with the company, who are looking for future opportunities.\"One of Melbourne's increasingly growing steel companies, has a requirement for welders to join their team to help with their up coming busy workload. They do not require a trade qualified welder but do require candidates with the same skills and experience. Travel allowance will apply for on-site work. Drug screening/medical checks may be essential before starting with company. Your own steel capped boots, PPE, hard hat may be required. A standard weld test in the factory before commencing work will be required. Duties may include but not limited to:

• Reading and understanding job specifications/drawings
• Cutting and Grinding of mild steel
• MIG/TIG welding mild steel per job specification
• On-site installation and fabrication
• General housekeeping of site

Ideal candidate will have:

• Welding skills and related experience
• Previous experience within an steel fabrication environment
• Able to read drawings and ensure product conforms
• Experience with MIG a must & TIG welding preferable
• Competent with hand and power tools
• Physically fit and reliable
• Rail Industry Card and White Card essential
• Ability to work autonomously
• PPE
• Have experience in general fabrication
• Available for overtime as required

Hourly Pay Rate:

• $30.00 - $35.00 p/h dependent on skill set
