Job summary

PPC Moulding Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our Day Shift production team in South Western Sydney. This hands-on role coordinates production activities across the shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of plastic injection moulded components for medical device, commercial and industrial sectors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Leading Hand, Supervisor or similar manufacturing leadership role.
• Experience coordinating staff, machine priorities and production schedules.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems and RF scanners in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of production operators on the day shift.
• Develop daily rosters and allocate employees to machines and tasks.
• Monitor machine utilisation, output, and schedule adherence.
• Coordinate with Production Lead to meet delivery requirements and targets.
• Work with Warehouse to ensure materials and finished goods flow.
• Utilise RF scanners and ERP system for transactions and inventory movements.
• Ensure work orders and quality records are completed on time.
• Collaborate with Quality Control, Die Setters and Maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Train and coach team members on safety and procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture.

Working closely with the Production Lead, Quality Control team, Die Setters and other production support functions, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and achieving production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and support a team of production operators across the day shift.

• Develop daily rosters and allocate employees to machines and tasks based on production priorities.

• Assist with employee rostering, attendance management and overtime planning to ensure operational requirements are met.

• Monitor machine utilisation, production output and schedule adherence, escalating issues and adjusting priorities where required.

• Work closely with the Production Lead to ensure customer delivery requirements and production targets are achieved.

• Coordinate with the Warehouse team to ensure materials, packaging and finished goods are available and moved in line with production requirements.

• Utilise RF scanners and the ERP system to manage production transactions and inventory movements.

• Ensure production paperwork, work orders, quality records and other operational documentation are completed accurately and on time.

• Partner with the Quality Control team to resolve quality concerns, investigate defects and drive right-first-time outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with Die Setters and Maintenance to minimise downtime and maintain efficient production flow.

• Train, coach and mentor team members in safe work practices, quality standards and production procedures.

• Promote a strong safety culture.

This role is on day shift, with hours of Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:30pm and Fridays: 6:00am - 12:00pm.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll be a practical and approachable leader who enjoys being on the floor, supporting employees and keeping production running smoothly.

You will have:

• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Leading Hand, Supervisor or similar manufacturing leadership role.

• Experience coordinating staff, machine priorities and production schedules.

• Strong understanding of production documentation, work orders and inventory transactions.

• Experience using ERP/MRP systems and RF scanners in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships across Production, Quality, Warehouse and Maintenance teams.

• A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

• Experience within plastic injection moulding or a similar manufacturing environment (preferred)
