Job summary

Anglo American Dawson Mine in Moura, QLD seeks an experienced Production Supervisor to lead a large crew in open cut mining. You will oversee truck and shovel operations, coordinate personnel, equipment and resources, and drive safety excellence on site.

The role reports to the Mining Superintendent and emphasizes coaching and cross‑department collaboration. Key candidates will have supervisor experience in open cut mining, knowledge of relevant legislation, and competencies S1/S2/S3/G2; OCE

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a large team within an open cut mining operation.
• Demonstrated experience with Truck and Shovel operations with knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Holder of Supervisor & Risk Facilitator competencies (S1, S2, S3 & G2).
• OCE ticket is desirable but not mandatory.
• Trainer & Assessor certification is desirable.

• Plan, monitor and coordinate personnel, equipment and resources to achieve targets and schedules.
• Lead and coach an established crew, manage safety, and work with other onsite departments.

Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor with a passion for Truck and Shovel Operations whilst maintaining safe production at Dawson Mine.

Reporting through to the Mining Superintendent, you will demonstrate a drive for safety as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills. As an experienced supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and leading a large team of operators to ensure operational production standards are met.

You will effectively plan, monitor and coordinate personnel, equipment and resources to achieve Dawson's set targets and schedules. This role will be of interest to those who enjoy coaching and mentoring an established crew, interesting investigative challenges and effectively working with other departments on site whilst maintaining strong relationships.

Relevant skills, knowledge and experience required for this role include:

• To be successful in the role, you will have supervisor experience running a large team within an open cut mining operation.
• Demonstrated experience with Truck and Shovel operations and a working knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Hold the Supervisor & Risk Facilitator competencies (S1, 2, 3 & G2).
• OCE ticket is desirable but not mandatory.
• Trainer & Assessor certification is desirable.
