Job summary

BOC Limited Australia is recruiting a Production Shift Manager to lead a Major Hazard Facility operation, focusing on safety, reliability and performance in a complex industrial environment.

You will provide frontline leadership, drive process safety culture, and coordinate maintenance and production activities to meet KPIs and customer commitments.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in a leadership or technical role.
• Strong HSE capability within a Process Safety or Major Hazard Facility environment.
• Sound technical knowledge across plant operations, maintenance and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Production team to deliver safe, reliable and efficient plant operations.
• Coordinate daily activities to achieve KPI targets, customer commitments and business objectives.
• Support maintenance planning, shutdowns, restarts and equipment reliability activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, cost control, inventory and operational performance.
• Manage resources, plant costs and critical materials in line with budgets and priorities.

Production Shift Manager

Lead a Major Hazard Facility operation where safety, reliability and performance come first. As our Production Shift Manager, you will provide frontline leadership across a critical manufacturing environment, driving safe and efficient plant operations while developing a high-performing team. You will play a key role in ensuring process safety compliance, operational excellence, maintenance execution, plant reliability and customer supply commitments are consistently achieved. What You Will Enjoy Doing

• You will enjoy leading, coaching and developing the Production team capabilities, and productivity. Setting clear expectations and proactively addressing performance
• Lead the production team to deliver safe, reliable and efficient plant operations
• Champion Process Safety and strengthen safety culture through visible, practical leadership
• Coordinate daily activities to achieve KPI targets, customer commitments and business objectives
• Build a high performance culture through clear accountabilities, regular feedback and consistent follow through
• Monitor plant performance, respond to operational issues and elevate risks promptly
• Support maintenance planning, shutdowns, restarts and equipment reliability activities
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, cost control, inventory and operational performance
• Manage resources, plant costs and critical materials in line with approved budgets and site priorities

What Makes You Great

• Experience in a process plant, manufacturing, reliability or similar operational environment
• Ideally you will have five years’ experience in a leadership or technical role
• Strong HSE capability, ideally within a Process Safety or Major Hazard Facility environment
• Confident people leadership skills, with the ability to coach teams and drive accountability
• Have the ability to have difficult conversations, manage performance and drive productivity
• You will have the ability to make an informed decision and own it
• Sound technical knowledge across plant operations, maintenance and control systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make timely decisions under changing priorities
• Clear communication style and a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders
• Relevant engineering qualifications in Chemical, Mechanical, Instrumentation or a related discipline
• Experience using business, maintenance and safety management systems
