Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking an AI Engineer based in Australia to build full‑stack AI pilots and prototypes with reliable, production‑oriented components. You will work on backend services, APIs, data integrations, and frontend elements, connecting to frontier model APIs and agent frameworks.

The role emphasizes observable, testable systems ready for handoff and reuse across teams. You will collaborate with AI engineers and product teams in a fast‑moving, collaborative environment, applying signals

Qualifications

Strong full‑stack software engineering fundamentals including backend development and frontend implementation.
Experience building AI-enabled applications or agents, with real-world demos or pilots.
Curiosity about frontier models, agentic architectures, and AI‑assisted software development.
Practical understanding of RAG, tool calling, LLM APIs, and modern AI patterns.
Clean, maintainable, well-documented code and quick learning in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

Build full‑stack features for AI pilots and prototypes (backend services, REST APIs, data connectors, frontend).
Integrate AI apps with cloud platforms and data infrastructure (Snowflake, internal APIs).
Develop reusable agent patterns, tests, traces, and documentation for an internal AI library.
