Job description

As Flite looks towards 2027 and beyond, the business is continuing to evolve its global supply chain and manufacturing capability.

08th September, 2026

The Shift People is proud to be partnering with Flite to recruit a Production Planning Partner to join their Byron Bay-based team.
Flite is behind some of the world’s most innovative electric foiling watercraft. Their mission is simple: make the world’s best electric foiling watercraft – creating products that are fun, engaging and efficient while helping drive the shift towards quieter, cleaner and more ocean-friendly marine power.
As Flite looks towards 2027 and beyond, the business is continuing to evolve its global supply chain and manufacturing capability. With an established network of contract manufacturing partners across Asia and further growth planned, this role will be central to ensuring that what is planned is actually produced – in the right quantities, at the right time.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain and Logistics, the Production Planning Partner will take ownership of the execution of Flite’s agreed production plan across its outsourced manufacturing network.
This is where planning meets execution.
You’ll work directly with contract manufacturers to translate supply requirements into production schedules, monitor whether factories are delivering against plan, identify constraints before they become bigger problems and drive the actions needed to get production back on track.
Flite manufactures different elements of its product portfolio through a number of partners, including manufacturers in Thailand and China, so there are plenty of moving pieces. You’ll be the person connecting those pieces and creating visibility around what is being made, what is coming next and where intervention is needed.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll take ownership of factory execution against the production plan, working closely with Flite’s manufacturing partners and internal supply chain team.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Translating supply requirements into clear production schedules and priorities for manufacturing partners.
  • Monitoring production output and schedule adherence, ensuring agreed quantities and timelines are being delivered.
  • Identifying manufacturing constraints, delays and risks early and working collaboratively with partners to resolve them.
  • Driving recovery plans when production moves off schedule rather than simply reporting the problem.
  • Building strong relationships with contract manufacturers while confidently holding partners accountable to agreed commitments.
  • Coordinating material availability, production completion and shipment readiness across the broader supply chain.
  • Coordinating the manufacturing implementation of engineering changes and supporting new product introductions.
  • Providing day-to-day direction to Flite’s Supply Chain Coordinator based at Cobra in Thailand.
  • Creating clear visibility around production status, risks, constraints and priorities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve factory communication, production planning processes and overall execution.

Importantly, this isn’t about sitting behind a spreadsheet and sending reports. When something isn’t going to plan, you’ll get into the detail, understand why, bring the right people together and help find a practical way forward.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who understands the realities of manufacturing and knows that even the best production plan is only valuable if it can be executed.
You may come from production planning, manufacturing operations, supply chain execution or production coordination, ideally with exposure to outsourced or contract manufacturing.
Experience working with manufacturing partners across Asia – particularly China or Thailand – would be highly regarded, as would experience managing production across multiple contract manufacturers.
More importantly, you’ll be someone who can build genuine relationships while still being prepared to ask the difficult questions. You’re comfortable challenging a production commitment, understanding what is causing a delay and working with a manufacturing partner to reach a solution.
Why Flite?
This is an opportunity to join an innovative, globally recognised business from its home in Byron Bay, working on an exciting product and playing an important role in the next evolution of its manufacturing capability.
The role will also involve approximately 3–4 trips per year to Asia, predominantly China and Thailand, giving you the opportunity to work directly with Flite’s manufacturing partners on the ground.
