Job summary

Obela, a proud part of PepsiCo ANZ, is seeking a Production Operator - Packaging at our Cavan (SA) site. Monday to Friday, 2:00pm to 10:00pm, with responsibilities on packaging equipment, quality checks and safety compliance.

You will operate machinery, identify hazards, complete production paperwork, and contribute to a collaborative team focused on quality and efficiency. Experience in FMCG is desirable and forklift/walkie stacker skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG or Food Manufacturing is desirable.
• Experience in operation, cleaning, changeovers, and preventative/general maintenance.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comprehension.
• Forklift licence is preferred.
• Walkie Stacker operation experience is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and equipment on the packaging line.
• Identify hazards and work with Team Leader to address them.
• Comply with Quality, GMP, Hygiene and Food Safety policies and procedures.
• Complete relevant production, quality and safety paperwork.
• Perform preventative and general maintenance on production equipment.
• Work in a team environment and participate in job rotation.

Details

• Location: Cavan (SA)
• Position: Full Time Permanent
• Shift Hours: Monday to Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery/equipment or processes
• Identify hazards and work with Team Leader to rectify
• Comply with Quality, GMP, Hygiene and Food Safety policies, standards and procedures
• Complete all relevant production, quality and safety related paperwork
• Perform preventative and general maintenance on food production equipment
• Willingness to work in a team environment and participate in job rotation practices

Qualifications

• Previous experience in FMCG or Food Manufacturing Industry (desirable)
• Proven experience in operation, clean, change over and conducting preventative/general maintenance
• Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical comprehension
• Forklift licence (not essential but preferred)
• Walkie Stacker operation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
