Job summary

Shadetex Australia in St Marys is seeking a Production Operator to join our hands-on team. The role involves operating a drop saw and an upcut saw to cut steel and aluminium components to specification, reading job sheets, and contributing to a production line that prioritises quality.

You will be on your feet most of the day and handle materials, working closely with the assembly team to keep production flowing. No prior experience is required; we will train the right person from day one.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required; training provided from day one.
• Physically active role, standing and manual handling.
• Good attention to detail; accuracy with measurements.
• Team player who communicates clearly.
• Able to read job sheets and follow precise measurements.
• Machinery experience is a bonus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate a drop saw to cut steel tube and an upcut aluminum saw to specification.
• Read and follow job sheets and delivery dockets accurately.
• Handle and receive incoming stock and materials.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
• Work closely with the assembly team to keep production flowing.
• Flag quality issues when you see them.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Production Operator to join our team immediately. Operating a drop saw and upcut saw to cut steel and aluminium components to specification, working from job sheets and contributing to a production team that keeps quality front and centre every day.

This is a physically active role. You'll be on your feet, working with your hands, and handling materials throughout the day. No previous experience is required. We'll train the right person from day one.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Operating a drop saw to cut steel tube and an upcut aluminum saw cutting extrusions to specification
• Reading and following job sheets and delivery dockets accurately
• Handling and receiving incoming stock and materials
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
• Working closely with the assembly team to keep production flowing
• Flagging quality issues when you see them

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Someone who shows up and works for the team every day
• Physically capable and comfortable in a hands-on factory environment
• Good attention to detail. Accuracy on the saw matters.
• A team player who communicates and asks when they're not sure
• Comfortable reading worksheets and following precise measurements
• Experience with machinery or a trade background is a bonus but not essential
