Job summary

Aero, an Australian-owned company, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead a fast-paced manufacturing operation. You will own production planning, Lean initiatives, and CAD-enabled design reviews while driving safety, quality and on-time delivery.

The role focuses on leading production teams, coordinating with engineering and procurement, and delivering continuous improvement across manufacturing processes and facilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in Factory Management or Operations Leadership.
• Advanced CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, planning and scheduling.
• Experience leading teams in manufacturing and quality/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily factory operations to meet production, quality, safety and delivery targets.
• Create and execute production schedules aligning with customer demand and objectives.
• Monitor KPIs and implement productivity improvements.
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
• Oversee CAD design reviews, engineering docs and product development.
• Manage capital upgrades, maintenance and facilities projects.
• Lead and develop production teams with a safe culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily factory operations to achieve production, quality, safety and delivery targets.
• Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand and operational objectives.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement strategies to improve productivity and factory performance.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Factory Management, Manufacturing Management or Operations Leadership.
• Advanced experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning and resource scheduling.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems and manufacturing compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and project management capabilities.

Preferred Experience

• Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement or Six Sigma experience.
• CNC manufacturing, fabrication, assembly or industrial production environments.
• ERP/MRP implementation or optimisation experience.
• Project Management qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience managing engineering change processes and design-for-manufacture initiatives.
• Knowledge of ISO quality systems and audit processes
