Job summary

Deo Nirmaan Gold Pty Ltd in Wells Crossing, NSW, is seeking a Production Horticulturist to lead land preparation, crop management and harvest planning for cucumber, aloe vera and berry crops. You will train staff, operate tractors and ensure safety and quality across operations.

Applicants should hold an AQF Certificate III/IV or equivalent and have 3+ years in production horticulture (or 5+ years without formal training). Strong WHS knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of horticultural production methods and crop management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee land preparation for cucumber, aloe vera and berry crops.

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly work programs.
• Assess quality and implement corrective actions.
• Operate and maintain tractors and farming equipment.
• Identify signs of plant diseases and pests.
• Apply chemicals for pest, weed and disease control.
• Coordinate harvesting across crop lines to ensure quality.

Salary: $78,000 - $88,000 plus Superannuation

Location: 69 Florda Gold Drive, Wells Crossing, NSW 2460, Australia

Mode: Full Time

Experience: 2 years’ experience minimum

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all land preparation activities for cucumber, aloe vera and berry crops are carried out in accordance with established procedures and operational standards.
• Train and monitor operators to ensure farming tasks are performed safely and efficiently.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly work programs to facilitate the effective implementation of farming activities.
• Assess the quality of completed work and implement corrective actions where required.
• Operate and maintain tractors, implements and specialised equipment, including spreading, seeding and irrigation systems relevant to crop production.
• Identify and report signs of plant diseases, pests and other crop health issues specific to cucumber, aloe vera and berry crops.
• Prepare and apply chemicals for the control of pests, weeds and diseases in accordance with established procedures.
• Coordinate harvesting activities across all horticultural crop lines to support consistent supply and quality.

To be successful in this role, it is essential you have:

• AQF Certificate III or IV qualification or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years' employment experience as a Production Horticulturist with relevant formal training, or at least 5 years' experience without formal training.
• Practical knowledge of horticultural production methods, crop management and farm operations, ideally across cucumber, aloe vera and berry cultivation.
• Ability to follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain quality standards in horticultural production.
