Job summary

ChampionX Artificial Lift is seeking a qualified fitter/turner to support manufacturing activities in Brisbane, contributing to assembly, testing and rebuilds of artificial lift products. You will identify issues, follow reporting processes and participate in CI initiatives to improve plant efficiency.

Two or more years in manufacturing, strong communication skills and a commitment to safety are essential. Forklift/license preferences and valid driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in fitter/turner or equivalent.
• Two or more years in a manufacturing environment.
• Fully competent in tasks under supervision.
• Valid driver’s license preferred and forklift license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, manufacture, test or tear down and rebuild artificial lift products according to specifications.
• Identify, report and problem solve issues arising with the design or components by following internal reporting processes.
• Oversee continuous improvement activities by raising, actioning and closing CI or MOC items to improve plant efficiency.
• Take corrective actions to enhance productivity or minimise adverse impacts.
• Contribute to lean manufacturing tools and techniques to reduce waste.
• Maintain safety, quality documentation and work instructions as required.

Job description

To support the production activities within the manufacturing and production of ChampionX Artificial Lift products, which will assist the company in achieving planned production levels and ultimately fulfil customer expectations. To effectively manage all relationships, internal and external that facilitate the efficient operation of production.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, manufacture, test or tear down and rebuild artificial lift products according to specifications.
• Identify, report and problem solve issues arising with the design, or components by following the correct internal processes for reporting issues, faults or non-conformities.
• Actively participate and oversee the company's continuous improvement culture by raising, actioning, and closing out CI's or MOC's that will improve efficiencies in the plant.
• Taking corrective actions as required to enhance productivity / efficiency or to minimise adverse impacts.
• Contribute towards the implementation of lean manufacturing tools and techniques to improve efficiencies and eliminate waste.
• Contributing towards quality control or manuals, procedures/work instructions, risk assessments or other documentation as required.
• Establish and maintain high staff morale, model sound leadership and teamwork.
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Drives and contributes to the department continuous improvement culture by identifying and suggesting areas for improvement and encouraging team members to do the same.
• Maintains confidentiality of all matters.

About you

• Trade qualified fitter/turner or equivalent
• Two or more years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Fully competent in all tasks and responsibilities that fall under the scope of supervision.
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong technical skills in the assembly of components with mechanical devices and tasks associated with these
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Valid driver's license in state of residence (preferred)
• Valid forklift licence in state of residence (preferred)
• Experience in the oil and gas industry (preferred)
