Hello Molly, Inc. is seeking a Production Assistant (Mandarin Speaking) to join our team in Sydney. You will support the Design and Production teams, coordinating product development, managing samples and liaising with overseas manufacturers to bring collections to life.

You’ll be highly organized, detail-oriented and proactive in keeping production on track. The role involves coordinating style development, tracking milestones and working closely with designers and garment technologists.

Qualifications

• Mandarin fluency is essential to liaise with overseas partners.
• Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities are required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development of new styles, fabrics and trims.
• Liaise daily with overseas manufacturing partners to track orders and samples.
• Maintain production trackers and monitor milestones and delivery schedules.
• Attend fit meetings with Designers and Garment Technicians and relay feedback.
• Work with Technical Designers to communicate fit comments and packaging specs to factories.
• Manage the sample room, ensuring samples are organized and tracked.
• Follow up with suppliers and internal teams to meet production timelines and deadlines.
• Provide administrative support to the Design and Production teams.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly organised, detail-oriented and passionate about the fashion industry. Working closely with our Design and Production teams, you’ll play an important role in coordinating product development, managing samples and liaising with our overseas manufacturing partners to bring our collections to life.

As our Production Assistant, you’ll support the team throughout the product development and production process, ensuring samples, timelines and factory communications are managed efficiently. Your proactive approach, strong communication skills and ability to juggle competing priorities will be essential in keeping production running smoothly.

What you'll do:

• Coordinate the development of new styles, fabrics and trims
• Liaise daily with overseas manufacturing partners in China to track order statuses, fabric sourcing, lab dips and sample development
• Maintain and update production trackers to monitor development milestones and delivery schedules
• Attend fit meetings alongside Designers and Garment Technicians, coordinating feedback and sample revisions
• Work closely with Technical Designers to communicate fit comments, revision requests and packaging specifications to factories
• Manage the sample room, ensuring samples are organised, tracked and maintained
• Follow up with suppliers and internal teams to ensure production timelines and deadlines are met
• Provide administrative and operational support to the wider Design and Production teams

What you'll bring:

• Fluency in Mandarin is essential
• Previous experience in a similar role, such as Production Assistant or Design Assistant
• Sound knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and fitting processes
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence communicating with overseas suppliers and internal stakeholders
• A proactive, collaborative approach and excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production tracking systems (highly regarded)
• A genuine passion for fashion and an interest in the product development and production process
