Toyota is seeking a Product Planning Specialist (Passenger Vehicles) to join the Product Planning & Development division in Melbourne. This permanent full-time role shapes passenger and Gazoo Racing vehicle line-ups, supporting delivery of desirable products that drive sales and customer satisfaction.

Primarily based in Altona North with weekly travel to Port Melbourne and flexible work arrangements. A strong engineering/marketing/commerce background and cross‑functional collaboration skills are

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Engineering, Marketing, Commerce, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated experience in product planning or marketing, within automotive or related industries.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and negotiate outcomes in a complex, cross‑functional environment.
• Experience in market research, cost planning, and financial analysis.
• Sound understanding of automotive systems and technical terminology.
• Knowledge of sales and marketing processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement Toyota product planning processes and procedures to support customer satisfaction, sales performance, and profitability objectives.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of product planning processes for Toyota vehicles and accessories to enhance product desirability and market outcomes.
• Contribute to the development of vehicle model line-ups and grade specifications, leveraging market and product research to maximise customer and commercial appeal.
• Prepare and document findings, recommendations, and proposals for effective communication and decision‑making with key stakeholders.
• Provide regular project status updates, identifying progress, risks, and issues, and recommending actions to support successful delivery.
• Prepare and maintain accurate vehicle and product information, ensuring technical content and reporting systems support effective planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
