Job summary

Synechron invites a Product Owner to join our team in Australia to drive end-to-end card and payments initiatives for a key financial client. You will analyse flows, fraud decisioning platforms, and API integrations, translating business needs into technical specs and delivering on complex banking platforms.

The role emphasizes fraud management, card tokenisation, digital wallets, and network token processing, with a focus on automation and AI-enabled data mapping.

Qualifications

• Experience in product ownership or business analysis in payment tech domain.
• Strong understanding of card networks, fraud workflows and payment processing.
• Familiarity with ISO 8583 and message mapping.
• Exposure to tokenisation, wallets, 3DS/CAVV is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and support end-to-end card and payment transaction flows, including Visa and Mastercard processing.
• Collaborate with fraud detection and decisioning platforms and card-processing applications.
• Analyse payment message attributes and data for design, mapping and troubleshooting.
• Support card lifecycle and fraud-remediation capabilities (blocking, replacement, etc.).
• Work with card tokenisation, digital wallets, 3DS/CAVV, and network token processing.
• Define API integrations, payloads, and data mappings between apps.
• Investigate behaviour via Oracle SQL, logs and observability tools.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implementation approaches.
• Identify opportunities for automation, Generative AI, NLP and data-mapping improvements.

We are looking for an experienced Product Owner with strong domain knowledge across Cards, Payments, and Fraud Technology. The role focuses on analysing, designing, delivering, and supporting solutions across complex banking platforms, with particular emphasis on fraud decisioning, card processing, payment transactions, and system integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and support end-to-end card and payment transaction flows, including Visa and Mastercard processing.
• Work with fraud detection and decisioning platforms, card-processing applications, and downstream customer communication systems.
• Analyse payment message attributes and transaction data, including ISO 8583 data elements, to support solution design, mapping, and troubleshooting.
• Support card lifecycle and fraud-remediation capabilities such as card blocking/unblocking, card replacement, reset status, token suspension/unsuspension/deletion and automated remediation.
• Work with card tokenisation, digital wallets, 3DS/CAVV, virtual cards and network token processing.
• Analyse and define API integrations, request/response payloads, event-driven interfaces, and data mappings between applications.
• Investigate application and transaction behaviour using Oracle SQL, logs, dashboards, and observability tools.
• Translate complex business requirements into clear technical requirements, solution flows, interface specifications, and implementation approaches.
• Identify opportunities for automation, Generative AI, NLP and intelligent data-mapping capabilities to improve engineering and operational processes.
