Job summary

Allura Partners is seeking a hands-on Product Owner to drive execution across a core ERP platform and a new generation of AI-powered features for transport and logistics operators. You will own initiatives from requirements through prototype to delivery, working with carriers, 3PLs and internal stakeholders to ensure value is delivered on time.

The role demands 3+ years in product ownership within T&L software or operations, and strong MVP/backlog prioritisation.

Responsibilities

  • Own defined initiatives through execution and delivery across the core platform and a new generation of AI-powered features, including how those features behave and where human review sits
  • Work directly with carriers, 3PLs and internal stakeholders to capture the operational context behind clear requirements
  • Define the MVP for each initiative, scoping the smallest release that delivers real value and sequencing what comes next
  • Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and development specs, and build high-fidelity prototypes that look and behave like the real product
  • Lead the delivery rhythm with developers, maintain sprint-ready backlogs, and support testing, demos and defect tracking

Job description

About The Company

Our client is a software business in the ERP platform mid-market transport and logistics operators market across Australia and New Zealand. They span transport management, warehousing, driver mobility, fleet maintenance and accounting. The next chapter is a new generation of AI-powered capability.

About The Role

A hands-on Product Owner role focused on execution: taking defined initiatives from requirements through prototype to delivery across the core platform and new AI-powered features. You will work closely with developers, carriers, 3PLs and internal stakeholders, leading the day-to-day delivery rhythm and keeping everyone aligned on scope, progress and risk.

Benefits
  • Sydney based
  • Salary of $125,000 to $140,000 for a permanent, full-time role
  • Genuine ownership from requirements through prototype to shipped software, not a backlog-administration role
  • Direct access to customers, with real influence over what gets built and in what order
  • Work at the front edge of AI in logistics software, shaping how new AI features behave inside a mature platform
  • AI tooling used as standard across requirements, design and prototyping rather than treated as an experiment
Duties / Key Responsibilities
Skills and Experience
  • 3+ years as a Product Owner or in a comparable product role, writing requirements and supporting delivery teams
  • Hands-on transport and logistics experience, either in T&L software (TMS, WMS, fleet or adjacent systems) or in operations at a carrier, 3PL or freight forwarder. This is essential, not preferred
  • Practical understanding of how freight operators run: dispatch, linehaul, pickup and delivery, warehousing, fleet and the commercial workflows around them
  • AI-native execution, using AI across daily work for prototypes, requirements, design documents and backlogs, with the judgement to verify and correct what it produces
  • Experience embedding AI into products, including defining what a feature should do, where its confidence limits sit and how human review fits around it
  • Strong MVP definition and backlog prioritisation against customer value and delivery constraints
  • Proven ability to run multiple initiatives and backlogs at once without dropping quality
  • Working knowledge of frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban, and the judgement to apply the right one
  • Confident leading sessions with developers, customers and business stakeholders, comfortable putting early prototypes in front of customers and iterating on the feedback
  • Highly organised and delivery-focused, comfortable with the regulatory and operational complexity of transport
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Product Design, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
