The Opportunity

As Product Owner Lead, you will be responsible for translating business objectives and customer needs into clear product strategies, roadmaps and digital solutions.

Working collaboratively with stakeholders across Digital, Innovation, Marketing, IT, Technology and the broader business, you will lead cross-functional Agile teams to deliver valuable, customer-focused outcomes.

You will also provide leadership, coaching and direction to Product Owners and Business SMEs, helping foster a strong Agile culture and ensuring teams are aligned to strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Define product and service vision, strategy and requirements aligned to customer needs and business objectives.


• Partner with business stakeholders and Agile teams to establish priorities and shape the digital product roadmap.


• Lead Agile delivery teams, owning product outcomes, roadmaps and backlog prioritisation.


• Translate complex business requirements into clear, user-focused digital solutions.


• Develop and manage implementation plans, including resource capacity planning and budget management.


• Leverage customer insights, behaviours and motivations to enhance digital experiences.


• Communicate delivery progress and priorities through showcases, stand-ups and visual management.


• Build strong relationships across Digital, Innovation, Marketing, IT and business functions.


• Communicate effectively with both technical and senior business audiences.


• Champion Agile principles and Scrum practices to improve delivery efficiency, collaboration and quality.


• Lead, coach and develop Product Owners, providing clear expectations, guidance and support.


• Ensure effective testing and quality practices throughout development and at go-live.
  

About You

We're looking for a strategic and commercially minded product leader who is comfortable operating across strategy, delivery and people leadership.

You will ideally have:

• Extensive experience in Product Ownership, digital product management or a related discipline.


• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and managing digital technologies and functionality.


• Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.


• A proven track record of delivering digital initiatives from strategy through to implementation.


• Experience developing business plans and translating business objectives into actionable product roadmaps.


• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.


• Experience leading, coaching or mentoring Product Owners or Agile practitioners.


• Experience with resource planning, budgets and delivery management.


• A strong understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate insights into meaningful digital experiences.


• Experience within financial services, insurance or another regulated environment will be highly regarded.


• A tertiary qualification or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
