Motion seeks an experienced Product Manager to lead the Mechanical Power Transmission category across Australia. You will bring technical and commercial expertise to support our sales network, customers and suppliers.

You will shape category strategy, strengthen offerings, deliver training and identify opportunities to improve sales, profitability and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Technical expertise in Mechanical Power Transmission including components such as chains, sprockets, pulleys, belts and drive systems.
• Experience in product management, category management or technical sales.
• Strong understanding of industrial customer needs and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead category planning and initiatives to drive sales, profit and market share.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Mechanical Power Transmission products.
• Manage product range, supplier selection and lifecycle activities.
• Develop supplier partnerships and growth plans.

The opportunity!

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead the development and growth of our Mechanical Power Transmission category in Australia.

In this role, you will bring technical and commercial expertise to support our sales network, customers and suppliers.

You will help shape category strategy, strengthen product offerings, deliver technical training and identify opportunities to improve sales, profitability and customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead category planning and initiatives to deliver sales, profit and market-share growth.
• Provide technical support, application guidance and troubleshooting assistance for Mechanical Power Transmission products.
• Manage product range, supplier selection and product lifecycle activity.
• Develop strong supplier partnerships and support joint growth plans.
• Work with sales teams to develop customer opportunities, product solutions and targeted sales plans.
• Support the development of competitive pricing, promotions, marketing and merchandising activity.
• Deliver technical product training for internal teams and customers.
• Conduct customer and branch visits to support sales development and market engagement.
• Analyse category performance, customer trends and market opportunities.
• Partner with supply chain and inventory teams to support forecasting and inventory optimisation.
• Maintain product data, technical literature and sales-support materials.

About you

You will bring:

• Practical technical expertise in Mechanical Power Transmission, including applications & components including industrial chain, sprockets, pulleys, belt drives, couplings, and associated drive components.
• Experience in product management, category management, technical sales, engineering support or industrial distribution.
• A strong understanding of industrial customer requirements and technical problem-solving.
• Commercial awareness, including exposure to product range, pricing, sales or margin management.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to deliver technical training.
• Strong planning, time-management and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using ERP and CRM systems.
• A current driver licence and flexibility to travel within Australia as needed.
