Job summary

Nanosonics is a global leader in infection prevention and seeks a Product Development Chemist to join our Research & Development team. You will contribute to the full lifecycle of chemistry product development—from research and testing through analysis, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

The role involves designing experiments, conducting labs, and communicating results to stakeholders, with emphasis on accuracy, reproducibility, and adherence to QMS policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
• Hands-on chemistry laboratory experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Industrial chemistry experience and familiarity with Quality Management Systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with effective planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Research and design experiments to improve or develop chemical products.
• Provide technical input to identify problem sources and design new approaches.
• Conduct laboratory tests, analyse results, and draw sound conclusions.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop prototype systems.
• Present experimental results to wider groups and management.
• Design and validate test protocols and standard test methods.
• Provide chemistry-related advice to internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve reproducibility, precision, and accuracy of tests.
• Ensure laboratory housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and safe waste management.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records in compliance with QMS policies.

About the role
