ABOUT THE ROLE

MESHKI is looking for an exceptional Product Developer to join our growing Product team and help shape the next evolution of our product. This is a role for someone who is genuinely obsessed with fashion product – someone who notices silhouette, fabrication, construction, fit and finish and understands how to turn an ambitious creative concept into an exceptional, commercially viable garment.

Working at the intersection of Design, Technical, Buying and Production, you'll own styles through the development journey from initial design handover to production-ready approval. You'll work directly with our Designers and global supplier network to develop samples, refine construction, resolve fit and fabrication challenges, improve product execution and ensure the final garment delivers the original MESHKI vision.

This isn't a role focused purely on administration or chasing samples. We want someone who gets into the product. You'll challenge construction. You'll question fabric choices. You'll identify better ways to engineer a garment. You'll push factories when execution isn't good enough. And you'll know when to find a smarter commercial solution without sacrificing what makes the product special.

ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Own product development from Design handover through Proto, Fit, SMS/PPS and production-ready approval
  • Translate creative concepts into technically accurate, commercially viable garments
  • Review samples for silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, workmanship and finish
  • Create and maintain accurate tech packs, BOMs and product information
  • Create and update technical Cad illustrations following fittings using Adobe Illustrator
  • Participate in fittings and driving clear, actionable fit and construction comments
  • Work directly with offshore suppliers to resolve development challenges
  • Develop fabrics, trims, washes, embellishments and finishes
  • Engineer product to achieve target cost while protecting design intent
  • Drive development milestones against the critical path
  • Reduce unnecessary sample rounds through better briefs and stronger decision-making
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve MESHKI's fit, quality and perceived product value
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING
  • 3+ years experience in Fashion Product Development, Fashion Design, or a similar role
  • Strong commercial handwriting with an understanding of the Australian & USA fashion market
  • Excellent Adobe Illustrator skills (essential)
  • Adobe Photoshop experience
  • Experience creating CADs, technical specifications and tech packs
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit and fabrication
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working with offshore manufacturers
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Fashion Design, Buying & Merchandising or related qualification (preferred)
